North Beach looked impressive in victories in the A-Grade and A-Reserves against South-West powerhouse South Bunbury on Saturday at Charles Riley Reserve.

After the reserves won comprehensively, the A-Grade kicked nine goals in the opening term to virtually close out the game in the opening stanza.

Both teams played a free-flowing, aggressive running game which the young visitors could not match.

The A-Reserves won by about 90 points while the A-Grade followed that up with a 10-goal triumph and decided to rest several stars, including best afield, Aaron Jarvis, after half-time.

Some of the impressive newcomers included Ryan Underwood, Josh Pearce and Kyle Holden while Anthony “Chooka” Ingham was in command in defence and ruckmen Simon Pearce and Alex Hack gave a hungry midfield first use of the ball.

While some of the recruits shone, so did several youngsters, including 2012 colts graduates Ned Melvin and Kris Hackett while Alex Billi and Michael Italiano also enjoyed some positive output.

This weekend the club will enjoy a full day of matches against West Coast Cowan at Charles Riley Reserve, starting at 9.30am with a match between the respective colts teams.

On Saturday, the colts squad played an intra-club practice match which also show-cased some exciting young talent and clearly there is some depth in the under-19s squad.
